Dry winter skin? Get rid of it with these five tips.

Your skin struggles during the colder winter days. You've probably noticed that it feels drier than usual. Lower humidity and reduced sebum production make your skin vulnerable. It can itch, flake, feel tight, and look a bit patchy. Absolutely nothing you want! So give your skin some extra attention. How? We'll give you five tips to help you feel better about yourself.

Tip 1: Hydration is key

First and foremost, it's important to drink enough water. This isn't just a must in the summer, but all year round! It keeps your skin hydrated and elastic, preventing dryness and tightness. It's also important to remove makeup and dirt with a mild cleanser in the morning and evening, and to apply a moisturizer after cleansing. Make sure it's suited to your skin type, or choose one suitable for all skin types, such as Age Defence (ages 20 to 40) or Multi Dynamic (ages 40 and older). Both creams are packed with high percentages of active ingredients and are both a cream and serum in one. You're guaranteed to be happy with that! With our Hybrid Lip Gloss, you'll never suffer from dry or chapped lips again. This multitasker protects your lips from dehydration and reduces fine lines. During the winter months, pampering your skin extra often with a good peeling such as Enzymatic Rejuvenating Peeling (peeling and hydrating mask in one) is still the fastest way to give your skin a wonderful boost.

Tip 2: Take a hot shower

It's tempting in the winter months, but don't spend too long in a hot shower. Hot water and shower gels containing SLS and SLES can seriously dry out your skin. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are substances that, when combined with water, make the product foam and dissolve sebum and dirt. While they cleanse your skin, they also disrupt its natural protective layer, leaving it dehydrated, dry, and itchy. Apply moisturizer to your face after showering, and don't forget the rest of your body! Regular application of body lotion is especially important in winter.

Tip 3: Exercise is good, also for your skin

Plenty of exercise and sports are always good for you, of course. But did you know they're also very good for your skin? It promotes good blood circulation, which in turn allows minerals, vitamins, and amino acids to be quickly absorbed by your skin. So you're taking good care of your skin and staying fit even in winter. What more could you ask for? Motivation check.✅

Tip 4: Goodbye dry air

Because we turn the heating up to maximum in winter, the humidity in our homes is dramatically low. The dry air draws moisture from your skin and dries out your skin, eyes, and lips. So use a humidifier or hang a bowl of water on the radiator. Just finished showering? Leave the bathroom door open, and the humidity in your home will rise as well.

Tip 5: Avoid drying ingredients

Avoid skincare and makeup products with ingredients that dry out your skin. For example, lip balms containing lanolin dry your lips, so you'll need more and more. For skincare products that cleanse your skin, it's best to avoid those containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). They damage your natural skin barrier, making your skin more sensitive and prone to drying out. Also, use fragrance-free makeup products. Instead, choose makeup products that hydrate and protect your skin. This will prevent dry and tight skin.

We use only ingredients that are safe and proven to have a positive effect on the skin. Each ingredient has been thoroughly assessed for safety, and all products are certified according to the European Cosmetics Regulation. We offer you the finest skincare without harmful substances and long-lasting makeup without harsh ingredients.
