Blog: Do you also make these makeup 'mistakes'?

Do you also make these makeup 'mistakes'?

A good makeup look makes you look fresh and vibrant. But if you apply it incorrectly, you can actually look older. So here are 4 makeup mistakes you'll never have to make again!

Many women have been applying their makeup the same way for years. But what used to work well might no longer be the best approach. This isn't just because trends change, but also because you've gotten a year older. Now, you want makeup that brings out your best features and makes you shine. We're happy to show you that applying a soft, natural makeup look isn't difficult at all!

How to best apply eyeliner

A thick line of black eyeliner under your eyes? That disco look used to be awesome, but now it looks a bit harsh and can quickly age you. Especially if you also darken your lower waterline. It draws attention downward—and you don't want your bags and dark circles to be noticeable, do you?

The effect becomes much softer if you emphasize the upper part of your eyes. Color your upper waterline with a brown eyeliner. This instantly opens up your look —a clever trick if you have drooping eyelids . Then, with the same pencil, draw a line just above your upper lashes and blend the color slightly upward with your fingers . You can also draw a thin line along your lower lashes, but keep the lower part subtle!

What is the best way to apply concealer?

Concealer is ideal for hiding shadows. The trick is not to use too much. Applying a bold line under your eyes and trying to blend it out will backfire: the concealer will remain visible as a light spot.

✅ It's better to apply just a dab of concealer to areas where shadows fall: in the dark crevice under your eyes and in the outer corners. Then, dab the product in with your fingertip. This will blend the concealer into your skin, creating an invisible layer.

Where should you apply bronzer?

❌ Bronzer is ideal for a healthy, radiant complexion. But it's not as flattering if you apply the powder all over your face. A tan like that doesn't look natural and will instantly make you look a few years older...

✅ To know exactly where your bronzer should be, use the brush as a guide. Place it straight down from your pupil: the color should stay outside of it. Then, place the brush from your ear to the corner of your mouth: the color should stay above it. Apply the bronzer in a three-dimensional pattern: from your temples in a curve across your cheeks and then in a curve under your jawline. This creates a soft shadow that makes your contours appear more defined.

This is the best way to apply makeup to your eyebrows

❌ Eyebrows add radiance to your face. That's why a little color can make all the difference. Did you know that research shows that dark eyebrows make you look younger and smarter? But before you start penciling in your eyebrows, make sure they look natural. Eyebrows that are too dark or completely filled in have the opposite effect. They give you a harsh look and can make you look older than you are.

✅ Instead of an eyebrow pencil, choose a colored eyebrow gel . This adds color without completely filling in your eyebrows and keeps the hairs neatly in place. For the best results, choose a shade slightly darker than your own eyebrow color. Another advantage: brushing the hairs upwards instantly opens up your look and creates a fresh, fresh look.
